Synopsis: FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare is known for her fierce dedication and discipline on the job, chasing down the world’s most wanted criminals and putting them behind bars. Her boss thinks she is tenacious and ambitious; her friends think she is tough, stubborn, and maybe even a bit obsessed. And while Kate has made quite a name for herself for the past five years the only name she’s cared about is Nicolas Fox—an international crook she wants in more ways than one.

Audacious, handsome, and dangerously charming, Nicolas Fox is a natural con man, notorious for running elaborate scams on very high-profile people. At first he did it for the money. Now he does it for the thrill. He knows that the FBI has been hot on his trail—particularly Kate O’Hare, who has been watching his every move. For Nick, there’s no greater rush than being pursued by a beautiful woman . . . even one who aims to lock him up. But just when it seems that Nicolas Fox has been captured for good, he pulls off his greatest con of all: He convinces the FBI to offer him a job, working side by side with Special Agent Kate O’Hare.

Problem is, teaming up to stop a corrupt investment banker who’s hiding on a private island in Indonesia is going to test O’Hare’s patience and Fox’s skill. Not to mention the skills of their ragtag team made up of flamboyant actors, wanted wheelmen, and Kate’s dad. High-speed chases, pirates, and Toblerone bars are all in a day’s work . . . if O’Hare and Fox don’t kill each other first.

Review: From page one in this book, it reads like a movie, or really more like a television series! No surprise there, as Goldberg is a screenwriter! And I'm sure it will be made into one, as it is very easy to see on the silver screen in your head!  The only thing I couldn't do was to figure out who should play the 2 lead characters- their friends, family and foes were easy to picture. But Kate and Nicholas have to have an instant chemistry and that was where I had a hard time linking up actors and actresses in my head. I have to admit I kept pausing while reading, trying to figure this out! I don't want to tell you who I finally came up with- I think you have to read it and see who you think it should be.

The book is a super quick of a read- I finished it in one sitting (like all of Evanovich's books) and I did feel like I could tell when Evonovich was writing and when Goldberg was, but that is probably because I've read ALL of Evanovich's books, and you do get a 'feel' for how an author writes. It is an enjoyable romp and perfect for reading by the pool or beachside this Summer! In some ways Evanovich's strong female leads are the criteria for a chick-lit driven mysteries- they are smart, funny, resourceful and HUMAN. Add to that Goldberg's sense of moving the story along at a killer pace and you've got a wicked read! There is a hint that it is the start of a new series of books, and I for one will be lining up for the next one!

This copy is getting passed along to a couple of readers, then it will be back here for the Top Shelf or a special Evanovich giveaway, so stay tuned toward the end of Summer for its return here on BTHM! In the meantime, you might want to sneak a library copy! It's just THAT good of a read!
