Yup, it's The Doghouse Time, appropriate since we are in the 'dog days of Summer!"
(sorry I couldn't resist!)
Marley was a rescue pup, and we feel strongly about saving dogs, as some of the best dogs we've all had have been 'mutts' and come from varied locations and shelters!
So when I heard about Givebones, I was quite happy to share with you about their great cause!

Purchasing just ONE Givebones collar saves three dogs from euthanization (via the 10% doantion). Givebones' mission is to reduce the number of homeless and euthanized dogs in the US each year by providing funding to animal shelters and rescue groups around the country.

According to Givebones founder Tricia Andrews, “there are approximately 5 million to 7 million furry companions that enter animal shelters every year.” With this astounding number of shelter animals in need, Givebones wants everyone to “join the movement” and help shelters and rescue groups save dogs.

Often in life, inspiration comes from the most unlikely of places. For Tricia, it happened while her husband was participating in a Giving Trip with TOMS in Central America- during which he noticed the amount of homeless dogs. There was one dog in particular who, lived up to his name, Bones. After reading “Start Something That Matters” by Blake Mycoskie, Tricia decided to be part of the movement and to honor the dog that inspired her, she started Givebones,to focus on giving here in her own backyard.

We were sent 2 collars and as neither fit the big lug, aka the 60 lb Marley, I let Miss Grace have the smallest one for Wolfie. As you can see she also shared her bracelet with Puppy (#2) for the photo opp- then she took it back!
