yummy snack line

YummyHealth is a brand new, independently-owned company committed to providing children healthy, but delicious alternatives to sugary, starchy, and salty snacks. Started by a MOM, Yummy snacks meet a need for healthy food for kids. Fed up with watching her kids become chubby junk food addicts, YummyHealth founder (journalist and mom Lisa Goldbaum) searched for healthier options, only to find that most so-called “healthy” snacks contained as much sugar and processed starch as the regular commercial varieties.

Lisa says she never wanted to be 'one of those moms' who fed their kids carrots and gave out toothbrushes on Halloween, but once she realized HOW much her kids were being exposed to unhealthy food, not only at home, but at school, she knew she had to do something! Lisa created YummySwaps to be delicious, but low in the sugars and starches that wreak havoc on kids’ energy levels, moods and food cravings.

YummySwaps products include a scrumptious “better-than-candy” bar made of wholesome real-food ingredients, crunchy snack chips made of real Wisconsin cheese and a zero-calorie naturally sweetened line of sodas that taste terrific. You won't find gluten, hydrogenated oils, trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, artificial flavors or preservatives in any of the YummySwap products. And to ensure that YummySwaps are up to kid standards, Lisa runs every new product by the "Yumsters Panel," which includes her own kids, as well as those of family, friends and neighbors!

The definite highlight of the snack line is their Chocolate Blast Snack Bar! Check out it's yumminess:

From the taste, you wouldn't realize that it contains real nutrients, like cocoa, coconut, almond butter and flax seed, as it tastes BETTER than regular candy or snack bars! Seriously, I could eat one of these EVERY day myself!  I have found that they are perfect for an 'energy' pick me up, but with none of the 'after crash' like you get from a candy bar! Check out the stats on them:

yummy choc bars 1

And because they are SO much better tasting, I only need half a bar! They have only 160 calories PER bar, 11g fat, 24g carb and 8g sugar, so they are also diet friendly as well. Your kids will LOVE these bars- I'm going to be stocking up just for me! It's a good thing they come in a box of 12!

They also have 3 varieties of their cheese snack chips: Nacho flavor, Cheddar flavor  and  Pizza flavor .

They are 'odd' in the fact that they are cheese. Just cheese, whey and salt (and seasonings). They look like itty bitty oatmeal rounds. They remind of when you make fried cheese. Or fried whey curds, if you live up Minnesota way. The taste? Well, if you like cheese, after the first bite or two, you'll get over the oddity of flavor. And suddenly you realize you've eaten the whole bag....Yup addicting, but in a good way (whey? pun intended LOL)

One bag has 2 servings- something to keep in mind- 150 calories, 13g of fat, 275mg of sodium and 1 g of carbs. They're different like I said, but I think kids would find them really interesting. Miss Grace prefers the Pizza flavor and I have to agree it tastes the best out of all 3 flavors!
