Summer is here and the kids are all out at the pool!

But hitting the pool isn't as simple as it once was!

Poolside Safety Essentials

Kid-Friendly Goggles: We all know the sting from opening your eyes under chlorine water but as a kid, seeing what lurks in the depths of the pool is just too tempting! To make sure that your little divers eyes aren’t red when they come up for air, pack a playful character dive mask, made for kids, that are comfortable and they'll want to use!

Safe Sunscreen: A day in the sun could mean a night full of tears if your kids aren’t protected from the summer rays. To avoid sunburns without having to reapply sunscreen each time they take a dip in the pool, try a water resistant, sports formula that offers great protection. Remember, protection now, means no skin cancer later as an adult!

Fun Floaties – It is always important to make sure adults and lifeguards are present, no matter what age/swim level your kids are at. But with so many children running around a public pool, it can be easy for a younger child to slip and fall-into a pool they can't swim in by themselves.. With floaties, kids will not only be safe, but they will feel a sense of swim independence as well!

Mini First Aid Kit – Its inevitable for kids to get a few scrapes while fooling around on the water slides or in the sand, and since we can’t protect them 24/7, you can always ensure you will be there to help them feel better after they get hurt! Be best prepared with a mini first aid kid and know that you will have everything you need to patch them up!

and lastly

Ear PlusIdeal for swimming and bathing, AquaEars for adults and children, offer dual protection for water-sensitive ears by sealing out water and reducing ear discomfort due to water pressure

We were recently send some of the Aqua Ears to review!

Miss Grace ended with up with a bad case of swimmer’s ear, medically known as otitis externa, last Summer, post swim lessons, so protecting her ears this year was a top priority for us. Swimmer's ear is the result of exposure to moisture in the ears from swimming or bathing. Pain, itchiness, redness or pus can occur when water stays in the ear canal for long periods of time, providing the perfect environment for germs to grow and infect the skin in the ear. So we were very interested in trying these Aqua Ears out!

AquaEars do not interfere with normal hearing like most other ear plugs for swimming, offering safer and fun recreation for your kids. They come in 2 sizes, for ages 3-11, and 12 up, You get 3 sets in each convenient carrying case, and new this year are 6 kid friendly designs, like Hello Kitty, Nemo, Cars, little Mermaid, Dora, Mickey Mouse and Sponge Bob! Of course Miss Grace had to grab Hello Kitty first! Because they are made of silicone, they are easy to adjust to the shape your child's ear, and when properly placed, stay in pretty well.

They work really great at keeping the water out of her ears and are a super idea to keep handy in the swim bag, along with the goggles and sunscreen! They are budget friendly, as they are reusable (well, if your kid doesn't decide to take one out and get it stuck in her hair....think bubble gum my friends, same concept, same stickiness! LOL. ), and we highly recommend them!
