Product Review: Liquid Chalk Markers 8 Pack

Paper and Twine

Louise Fox, of Paper and Twine, was a proud mother of three and looking for an easy, effective way to encourage creativity in her kids and family. She stumbled on the liquid chalk phenomenon and the light bulb moment happened! Unfortunately, she encountered many problems. So many months, and expenses later, she researched everything that makes a good marker. She found the best liquid chalk ink, best marker body and most premium tips. Finally a small batch of these markers were created for her family and some close friends to test. The results were wonderful. One of her friends suggested these were so good that they should sell them to everyone so here they are: Liquid Chalkers

You can see the difference when you look at the markers in their container! You get 8 markers, not 4 or 5, and from the tops, you can see the colors are different! The liquid chalks are perfect for use on mirrors, chalkboards (with a non-porous backing), metal, whiteboards, windows, ceramics, chalkboard labels, chalkboard contact paper, even car windows!

When you initially receive the markers, you shake the marker well, depress the tip on a scrap piece of paper, and the ink flows down and fully coats the tip (which can take up to 45 seconds), and then you are ready to see how creative you can be!

As you can see, the liquid chalk colors are vibrant and very colorful! You can turn the nibs to the side and go from a thick flow to a thin line- perfect for outlining your masterpieces!

Like all liquid chalk products, Liquid Chalkers are designed to be used on non-porous surfaces (surfaces that do not easily absorb liquid). Be sure to check EVERY surface you are going to use the marker on by first using it on a tiny corner to make sure it will wipe off. These markers are specially formulated so they will wipe off most NON-POROUS surfaces super easily with a damp cloth (I do recommend using a paper towel, as sometimes there is a bit of chalk that doesn't want to come off the cloth- but it should wash out).

Unfortunately, chalkboards/blackboards and surfaces coated in chalkboard paint can vary considerably in what the backing of the board is made from. If the manufacturer of your chalkboard created it by painting chalkboard paint over an absorbent wood then this is a porous chalkboard and liquid chalk may well soak in and not easily wipe off (note: Mr Clean Magic Erasers combined with some water are very effective for removing liquid chalk when it has been applied to porous surfaces)

If your chalkboard has a glass, metal, sealed ceramic (not raw pottery) or plastic backing (like our chalk dog above) then it is likely non-porous and the liquid chalk will wipe off (which ours does).

Miss Grace came home from her Dad's to discover my artwork and started scheming to add her own around the house! As you can see, Mom had to stealth to get a pix or two, of the artist in action!
