Do you have all your books?
Are you sure?
You better go check, I’ll wait.
Are they missing?
Who is the Snatchabook you ask?
The Snatchabook is an adorable little creature stealing all the bedtime stories in the woods of Burrow Down.
One dark, dark night in Burrow Down, a rabbit named Eliza Brown found a book and settled down, when a Snatchabook flew into town.
It’s bedtime in the woods of Burrow Down, and all the animals are ready for their bedtime story. But books are mysteriously disappearing. Eliza Brown decides to stay awake and catch the book thief. It turns out to be a little creature called the Snatchabook who has no one to read him abedtime story. All turns out well when the books are returned and the animals take turns reading bedtime stories to the Snatchabook.
“I dare you to try to read The Snatchabook silently to yourself. You can’t do it. The book is so wonderful it demands to be read out loud.” —Brian Selznick, author and illustrator of The Invention of Hugo Cabret
Review:
Miss Grace loved loved loved this book, and couldn't turn the pages on the Kindle fast enough for me, as Brian says, the books BEGS to be read out loud from the first page! As a child who has not one, but THREE bookcases of her own books, the thought of loosing her books was pretty much tantamount to a horror story! But like, Eliza, when she realized the why behind why the were being stolen, her very compassionate nature came to the front and she told me she would have made the same decisions as Eliza, and that Eliza was very brave and wonderful!
On our second reading of the book, she read to me! AHA, a book that kids want to read out loud themselves? Priceless! This book is slated to be a classic, so be sure to pick up your copy today!
