Disclosure / Disclaimer: I received this book, free of charge, from Pelican Publishing, for review purposes on this blog. No other compensation, monetary or in kind, has been received or implied for this post. Nor was I told how to post about it
I was going to review this book and place it on the Top Shelf for next month, but the more I looked at it, the more I thought of it as Valentine's Day gift of love from God (via Sally Ann)!
So I decided it needed it's own giveaway, because EVERYONE can use Hope and prayer,
and most importantly, everyone has God's love!
Synopsis:
On days where dark clouds hang low and ominous, where life’s stresses and woes seem like an unending downpour, like nothing but dread looms on the horizon, sometimes all it takes is a kind thought and word to light the way through the gloom. This book seeks to remind readers that, even when life is at its most difficult, the spirit of grace lives within all things. It provides everyday reassurances meant to inspire hope at times when hope seems far away.
Review:
Subtitled 'A Little Book of Hope', that is exactly what this book is! Sally Ann and Eric are from local New Orleans television affilate, WWL-TV's morning newcast, Eyewitness Morning News (which happens to be the highest -ranking one in the country!). You may also recognize Sally Ann, from her videos with her famous sister, Robin Roberts, from Good Morning America (who also provides a forward for the book).
For many of us, Sally Ann and Eric have been mainstays in our morning routine, and she has always been full of praise and hope, no matter what illness she, or her family members, were going through! So it was no surprise to me, that she had branched out from her speaking engagements, to pair with Eric for this book. As you can see, Eric takes superb photos, that truly capture the essence of God's hand in the nature and scenery of Louisiana.
Each page offers a line of wisdom, accompanied by a relative quote from scripture. Each page also features one of Eric's stunning pictures as well (taken in Louisiana, Italy, Mexico, and Canada primarily). The pictures echo the scripture and show God's hand in everything around us. The pages will uplift your soul, and remind you that God is everywhere around us, offering hope and renewal.
Sally says her goal in writing the book, was to remember that when life seems insurmountable, God's love is there for us, and his Power will see you through, and that he loves each and everyone of us!
The small volume is lovely, and perfect for giving to anyone, no matter their age. For those needing a ray of hope, it offers words of wisdom and guidance, and we highly recommend it!
