And now for a great book for dear old Dad!
Some pictures are worth a thousand words.
Others, just two: seriously Dad?
In this new compilation, author Dave Engledow confronts his worst parenting nightmares through cleverly crafted photographs. Engledow brings his chuckle-worthy scenes of to the printed page – a book that is sure to make you, at the very least, smile.
In an attempt to create an image that his new daughter would one day appreciate, Dave Engledow took a photo in which he's cradling eight-week-old Alice Bee like a football and doctored it to look like he's squirting breast milk into a "World's Best Father" mug. Friends and family clamored for more.
With skillful digital manipulation and more than a little patience on the part of Alice Bee (World’s Best Daughter), this comical portrayal of what not to do as a first-time dad pairs the visual aesthetics of Norman Rockwell with a darkly comic sense of humor. After Dave's humorous attempts to capture the sleep-deprived obliviousness of being a first-time dad went viral, he and Alice Bee found themselves bona fide Internet and television celebrities.
With this new book, you can watch the adorable Alice Bee grow up under the watchful eyes of her dad as they:
- Learn to mix and pour martinis for when Mom gets home
- Show how carving pumpkins, inside-out is the only way to go
- Perform house improvements… sort of
- Train for the 2016 Olympic High Dive (it’s never too early to start)
- Find the many uses for a bidet
- Prove the washing machine is a perfectly good bathtub
- And much, much more.

I've long been a fan of Dave's website (http://engledow.tumblr.com/) and his hilarious pictures, so it was a lot of fun to see the all compiled together! The book is a farce- as Dave explains, Alice Bee was never in any danger, it's all the wonders of photoshop! Dave explains in the book how he got Alice Bee to sit still (nor not as happened more than you would expect), and how there was usually an extra set of hands around (thanks mom). Equally charming was the tale of the lost World's Greatest Father cup- quel horror!- and how they proceeded without it, until it was found (in the strangest of places!). You'll find yourself laughing your way through this book, and the expressions and thoughts you can see on poor Alice Bee's face! It is a hilarious book, that is perfect for giving to YOUR dad this Father's Day!
