Since we're talking about bathrooms today, I wanted to share with you about a great NATURAL cleansing bar that we recently tried:
Did you know that all natural soaps are NOT created equal?
I was shocked to learn that Fragrance oils are extremely toxic and contain known carcinogens. Most soap makers are unaware of the toxic nature of fragrance oil,s and use them to keep the price of their soap low (essential oils cost up to 3 times more than fragrance oils)! None of the wholesale sites that sell fragrance oils to soap makers mention the toxic nature of these products which leads to well intentioned soap makers to put carcinogens in their 'natural' soap products. Who knew? I didn't!
Even olive oil can in 'natural' soaps can be suspect! Most 'natural' soap makers use what is called Pomace Olive Oil. This is the cheapest olive oil you can buy, that is made after the cold pressing for 'virgin' olive oil is done, when just pressing the olives won't produce any more oil. Toxic solvents (hexane) are then used to extract more of the oil from the olives. This pomice oil is then heated to evaporate the solvent out. UGH, so much for pure olive oil!
Moringa is the most nutrient dense plant ever tested. It has more vitamins, minerals, proteins, anti-oxidants and amino-acids than any other food. Moringa is a plant that is native to the areas of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The leaves, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds, and root are used to make natural medicine. Green Virgin uses only the leaves (which have the highest concentrations of nutrients) in their products. Moringa has many uses, including treating anemia, asthma, cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, headaches, heart problems, high blood pressure, immune system booster, joint pain, kidney stones, stomach if taken internally. Moringa is sometimes applied directly to the skin, as a germ-killer or drying agent (astringent).
