Ah 4th of July...
Sun, fun, red, white and blue, and food!
This year you can hand the kids a patriotic looking snack that has GOOD things in it,
and they'll never know, they'll just LOVE how it tastes!
We were sent a gift pack from Pirate's Booty to put together some Patriotic snacking bundles with one of Miss Grace's favorite new snacks:
Pirate's Booty Fruit Booty stays true to the adventurous spirit of the original Pirate's Booty, while still being cholesterol, peanut, tree nut and gluten free, with no trans fats! It is a crunchy, fruity baked rice and corn puff snack, made with delicious berry blasts made with real strawberries! And with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, it's a snack you love to serve your kids during the Summer, and all year round!
Adding in the white to our patriotic snack is Rickland Orchards Greek Yogurt Covered White Almonds. These dry roasted almonds are covered in a creamy tasty Greek yogurt coating, and have two times more protein and fewer carbohydrates than regular yogurt! Add in the fact that they are trans fats and cholesterol free, and you have another great healthy snacking alternative.
If you are lucky enough to have some fresh local blueberries, and your kids LOVE them, then they make the perfect blue for your patriotic snack! But you might not have them, nor your kids like them, so an alternative is to use some blue covered candies!
All you have to do is to add everything to a one bowl, mix and serve in patriotic dishes or cups!
What could be easier?
And don't forget to wave the stars and stripes while eating your patriotic snack, and watching the 4th of July parade with your Stars Sunglasses!
And keeping with the American tradition-
how about a giveaway of Pirate's Booty?
One lucky BTHM reader will win:
A Summer Snack Pack consisting of:
2 bags Pirate's Booty Fruit Booty
2 bags of Richland Yogurt Almond Bites
2 bags of blue candy
American Flag
Star sunglasses
(note: no Americana containers, as shown above, in Winner's Pack)
Good luck!
