So artistry is a family tradition for both Wendy and her husband Jean-Noel! And both definitely have some mermaid in their souls, having sailed together and having their children asea!

And that is how her business began- Wendy was traveling in the Caribbean on a boat, picking up mermaid treasures like rocks, shells and trinkets, and making her own unique jewelry to wear. Once people started asking where they could buy her lovely pieces, she realized her hobby was an option to make lots of people happy, by turning it into a business. Then she met her husband, Jean-Noel, and together they kept crafting unique piece to sell, while on their travels.

After a serendipitous crash, that led them to Seaside, Florida, in 2004, the same time as their in-laws, they found their landlubber home, and settled in to open not 1, but 3 businesses! And soon La Vie est Belle, opened in Seaside, Florida, and allowed her to be the creative genius behind adding Tahitian pearls to leather, and thus starting her signature Mignot Pearl and Leather Jewelry line! Representing, strength, when added to the strips of leather, the pearl jewelry became an immediate work of art, showing both classic beauty, silent strength, but a sense of fragility. Her customers became enchanted, and her audience grew!

Today the line is STILL made by hand, with Wendy and her husband hand selecting the items for the jewelry pieces, and hand drilling them still. You literally are STILL getting one of a kind unique pieces of art. For even if each piece is similar, each pearl is unique, like the wearer!
