Death on a Scottish Train cover

Synopsis:

Summer is coming to a close on beautiful Sea Isle in Scotland, and Dr. Emilia McRoy is celebrating one year since her big move. With a weeklong festival to end the season, the town gathers for a magical ride on the newly refurbished Storyteller’s Train, but the launch’s success is dampened by an unexpected death.

What appears to be a case of deadly allergies is soon revealed as murder. As Emilia, her assistant Abigail, and the local constable Ewan McGregor unravel the mystery, the killer sets their murderous intentions on them.

If they want to survive, they will need the help of all of their friends—before they become the latest victims.

Review:

This series just keeps getting better with each book! Emilia has made it through her first year and is enjoying another weeklong festival in Sea Isle (they do seem to have a lot, LOL), and is thrilled to be able to attend a party and ride on the restored train engine that volunteers have worked so hard to get running. But when one of the story tellers on the train fails to arrive, a substitute is found, and only afterwards is his body found in the station house. As Emilia is also the town coroner, she sets to work with Abigail to see how he died, so that Ewan can try to figure out who would want him dead. But death is never simple and soon someone is trying to break into her office yet again, and it may be up to Emilia to save her friends, when they were worried about her safety. A fast read, this is perfect for the end of summer, just one more summer read!
