I am not the type of person who is forth coming about everything in my life, so I held off doing an 'About Me' page til now! But as the blog is growing and I figured it would be a good idea to finally make an About Us, aka About Me page!
Nicole: I was born and raised a military brat, based primarily out of California. Both my parents were products of a Yankee marrying a Southerner, with Mom being the first true generation on her Mom's side born in the U.S. (which explains why we have so many Canadian readers- they found me out-LOL). This goes a long way in explaining why I am both very Southern and have weird Yankee habits as well!
I ended up back in California for my college years, and eventually returned to Louisiana, and family. My husband and I have a 6 year daughter, aka Grace on this blog (who loves reviewing products FYI, she takes after Mom), 1 kitten, and 1 'we don't know what she is' dog, named appropriately Marley!
This blog was born back in 2009, after some prodding by my best friend, about why didn't I write stories like Laurie Notaro, as she thinks I'm funny and sarcastic, like her. I ended up not entering Notaro's essay contest, and started this blog instead! It has evolved and changed a whole lot. It's hard to pigeon hole, and I personally like that every reader will get something different from it. I like to say it's a lot like cooking- a little of this, and a little of that, but it all makes the blog better than following a set recipe (niche), just like when your Mama or Grandma cooks!
This blog has reviews of products and books, giveaways, memes on cooking and recipes, preschool tales and crafts, activities from the New Orleans/southeast Louisiana area, and any other information I think my loyal, and/or new, readers would like to know about! You just never know what will spark my curiosity!
So grab a cup of coffee or tea, and sit down and hopefully, you'll stay awhile and come back for more! The WELCOME mat is out, ya'll come in!
Grace (previously known as Kiddo, til she decided she didn't LIKE that nickname anymore, SIGH):
I keep her actual name off the blog, as I believe she should have some privacy there! She is a frequent toy and book reviewer, and loves the UPS man just about as much as she loves Santa Claus! Ah the joys of being in Kindergarten!
