I have been reading Barbara Taylor Bradford's (BTB) books for what seems most of my life!  You know when you pick up one of her books you will be getting a good read, and one that will keep you busy for a few days!

Mom grabbed this one as soon as it came in!

Letters From a Stranger

Synopsis: Justine Nolan is an award-winning documentary film maker who lost her beloved grandmother, Gabriele, a decade ago.  Her grandmother had been the only source of love and comfort in Justine’s life.  Her own mother, Deborah, had always been distant and uninvolved, following her own agenda in pursuit of her career. But, one day, when Justine returns to her childhood home, she inadvertently opens a letter addressed to her mother—a letter that contains a shocking revelation.  If true, this information will change everything Justine has believed about her family’s history, her mother, and Gabriele.

Justine’s search for the truth takes her to Istanbul, where she begins to unravel the mystery surrounding the letter.  But the city holds other secrets as well, which lead Justine to an intriguing man who seems to know more than he admits.  The haunting story of Gabrielle’s past begins to unfold, taking Justine back to the darkest days of World War II.  As the layers of deception peel away, Justine begins to understand the truth about her family and her grandmother’s identity.  What Justine learns changes her world forever, and she must examine the true desires of her own heart in order to heal old wounds and embrace her new life.

Mom's Review: What can you say about a book from BTB, that hasn't already been said? She knows the formula for a good book: suspense, intrigue, romance and love!  From page to page, you just don't know what is around the corner- she keeps you guessing well. The book is suspenseful, but most daring with the Holocaust memories included. This is a romance of a family torn apart for a decade, then by chance, a new beginning for all. This is an easy, quick read (she head it in one day!)! I am sure it will be a movie soon, and I look forward to it!
