Review: Another wonderful book to add to the PLC series! The books are wonderful first chapter books (aimed at 3rd to 6th graders), that even younger children (ie 1st/2nd grade) will delight having read to them. many of the readers will relate to parents remarrying and feeling anxious about the changes that will happen. The authors handle these deftly and show how love and friendship can get you through just about anything (an important lesson to learn). We love how all the books feature one girl and an issue she is having- it allows the authors to really show her character, good and bad, and to illustrate how the girls are changing as time goes on. Included in the back of the book is the recipe for the Tres leches Cupcakes and the Elvis PB and Banana cupcakes!
There is also a great story about Maddie's Corner, the dog foundation that the authors ave founded, that supports animal rescues and shelters, with financial help, AND you get to read the first chapter of the next book in the series! Always a big plus!
So if you are looking for the perfect gift for a young girl, give this series a try!
