Bzzzz: Update on Aveno Haircare Line/ Nourish and Moisuturize

If you recall a couple of weeks ago I pitted Aveno Nourish and Revitalize up against Pantene. I had received that sample of Aveno, as a preview of an upcoming Bzzz Agenct campaign that had been delayed.
As you recall, I felt the Aveno had some great qualities, but I leaned toward Pantene as I really liked how my hair felt afterwards, and it was too hard for me to give a proper review of whether it works as advertised to make your hair stringer in 3 washings, as there wasn’t enough for my length of hair to get three washings!
I received my Bzzz Agent package a week and a half ago and received the Nourish and Moisturize Shampoo and Conditioner, along with some samples and coupons. Now some of you lucky prize winners have found some ‘extras’ in your packages, for you to try as well! I’d love to hear your comments on what you think about the collection!

This exclusive ACTIVE NATURALS formula harnesses the power of nature combined with advanced scientific methods and is shown to give you the beautifully strong, healthy — looking hair you desire and deserve. And, because it's from AVEENO, you can trust that it's gentle on color-treated hair.

AVEENO NOURISH+ MOISTURIZE CONDITIONER does much more than nourish and condition — it quenches the driest hair with a fusion of gentle conditioners and moisturizers, giving hair silky new life. Scientific studies show that just three washes helps repair damage, providing the three key elements that give hair life — strength, softness and shine.

AVEENO NOURISH+ CONDITION LEAVE-IN TREATMENT does much more than nourish and condition — it quenches the thirstiest hair with a fusion of deep conditioners and moisturizers, recharging it with healthy new life. Hair is instantly revitalized and scientific studies show that just three uses helps repair dry, damaged hair.
I’ve now washed my hair 4 times with it and feel I can give you a much better opinion on how it worked for me.

The shampoo’s claim re making your hair stronger in 3 shampoos, I would have to say has some merit. I know with the change of seasons I started loosing hair like I was shedding (happens every fall). I found that after 4 shampoos, that amount was greatly lessoning. Hmmmm, maybe by making it stronger, I was loosing less? Seemed to be.

As someone who dyes their hair regularly and straightens her hair occasionally, I have to say my hair does have some damage. Aveno says their Aveno Nourish and Moisturize Collection has a wheat complex that has a positive charge to attract it to the negative charge of the damaged hair shaft (like a magnet), thus giving hair the extra moisture exactly WHERE you need it.

I have to admit my ends seem much less frizzy and dried out after 4 washings. So apparently the moisture IS getting where it needs to be.

With the swing back of humidity and high temps to our area (OH, the horror, the horrors, where is fall????) making my hair ‘flat’ pretty much requires a flat iron, as no product works to keep it down, not even Ouidad! However, I found that if after washing and using the conditioner, I would rinse it, then take a small amount and add a touch of water and run it through my hair (keeping it from getting wet after that), it has kept my hair ‘frizziness’ down and while not ‘flat’ I can more than live with it!

This procedure also seemed to give my hair a little more silkiness, as Aveno said the collection would.

Overall I would say getting the RIGHT shampoo/collection for your hair type made the difference. I now like Aveno Nourish much better than before and would be quite happy to recommend it!
