I was recently granted a review copy of When Dreams Bleed by the author, Robin Cain. Apparently it's a good week for mysteries!
Synopsis: A software genius with a knack for business, Frank’s been living the dream his whole life. He’s amassed money, success, and is now accumulating women, but someone out there thinks he’s gone too far.
Who is seeking revenge and why? His wife? His mistress? Or the shadow who’s been following his every move?
Just when he thinks he has anticipated his opponent’s next move a tragic car accident leaves him paralyzed, his life’s work is being stolen and his wife has disappeared. Just how far will someone go to teach him the correlation between deception and despair?
WHEN DREAMS BLEED examines temptation and the ensuing consequences in a contemporary world. It’s no secret that dreams come at a price, but what happens WHEN DREAMS BLEED?
This was a VERY quick and interesting read! To quote Shakespeare "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive". Cain is a master weaver! I had only a couple of quibbles where I didn't feel the webline was reasoned out enough, but they weren't enough to ruin my reading or enjoyment of the book. Just questions I had at the end that I didn't feel got answered enough! You really don't see the final ending coming. It's another book where you want to go back and reread and see what clues you missed! I definitely would recommend this book- just be prepared for how quick it reads- you may find yourself reading it all in one sitting!
