PIP/ Book Review/ Giveaway/CLOSED: When God Winks at You by Squire Rushnell

At Christmas one of my best friends recommended a little book that she found at Dollar General, of all places: When God Winks at You by Squire Rushnell.
Synopsis: A surprising answer to prayer comes at just the right moment. Could God be showing you that He cares about the details of your life? Best-selling author Squire Rushnell says these silent little miracles are godwinks - messages of assurance that no matter what is happening in your life or how uncertain things may seem at the moment, God is with you and will help you move toward certainty.

When God Winks at You is an amazing array of real-life stories that will help you begin to recognize the godwinks in your own life and attain an unshakable confidence that you are never alone...and never have been. With delightful warmth and familiarity, Rushnell has masterfully crafted a timeless collection of inspiring and faith-building stories that can be enjoyed again and again.

Review: I love this book! I am a very firm believer in godwinks, as they have played roles in my own life!
I know from my own experience that they come when you least expect them, and they surprise you and normally delight you! The book is quick and easy reading- you can read it a chapter, which is really like a little vignet, at a time, or a few at a time. There are stories from famous people (Don Knotts, Tim Conaway), not so famous people (the founder of Ruth Chris' Steak Houses), normal every day people and even the author himself!

The book has some great quotes interpersed within the stories, that reflect key points within the chapters. It is the PERFECT little  book to have on hand when you need a pick me up, need to kill 5-10 minutes, or just time to reflect on the power of prayer and God! We gave them out as Christmas presents. The book would be perfect for anyone in your life in a pastoral or teaching career- the vignets are perfect for sermons, bible study classes and lectures!

You can check out more on the book's website, even a trailer! You can even share your own godwink there!

    6. This book is so inspiring or encouraging. Just the fact that I read it was a godwink in itself.

I love how it makes you look at the ordinary and realize life is really "extraordinary."
