This wonderful new program, provides parents and children
with free audiobooks of Sterling's most successful titles, as well as a
Jokecast featuring jokes from Sterling’s many joke books, all for free!
The
audiobooks and the Jokecast were made at Sterling's own little recording
studio at their office building, and are voiced entirely by Sterling employees! Talk about a great job to have, no? The audiobooks all
have original
music and are fun to listen to!
We were sent Cesar Takes a Break by Susan Collins Thomas and beautifully illustrated by Rose, to follow along with a sample of the audiobook for it.
Aimed at ages 4-7, Cesar is the story of Cesar the Iguana. Life has been good for him, he went from living in Pets-a-Plenty to being a class pet in Ms. Lee's elementary classroom, with 25 best friends to pamper him. But now spring break has arrived and the kids are gone for a WHOLE week, leaving Cesar in a puddle of sadness. But then he decides to take a vacation too and wanders from classroom to classroom, meeting all the other class room pets who got left behind also, and making hilarious notes in his journal. Before long he's feasting on strawberries, playing Shakespeare on stage, dancing the Iguana Shuffle and playing hockey in the teacher's lounge! But will he ever want to go back to his Cage????
This is an adorable book! Cesar has a great time doing things that the kids get to do in school and meeting all the other pets. The audio book really brings it to life for a child! My daughter loved hearing someone else besides Mom, Meme or Papa, reading a book to her! The music was superbly picked and really accented the book wonderfully! Robert Agis, the brilliant mind that came up with the Listen Along program in the first place, is HILARIOUS (as you’ll see if you watch the video). He is the voice of Cesar and many other characters in subsequent audio books and he wrote all the original music. He is a smart, innovative guy, who may be on just a wee bit TOO much caffeine, but that makes him perfect for the audio book! You can check out the making of the audio book on You Tube here:
