Book Review: Happy to 102 by Kathy and James Johnson and Lily Sarafan

I recently received an interesting book thru Bostick Communications to review, on a topic, that we ALL have to face soon or later! AGING

Synopisis: We are living longer than ever. Centenarians are the fastest growing segment of our population. Before we know it, 102 just may become the new 75. As we live longer, though, we want to enjoy improved health-span alongside increased lifespan. Happy to 102 lays out all those factors-diet, exercise, sociability, mental challenge, sense of purpose-that make the difference not only in how long we live but in how well we live. Based on groundbreaking scientific research of the longest living people on Earth, Happy to 102 spells out precisely what it takes to delay or escape Alzheimer's and other chronic diseases, slow down the process of aging and enjoy better health in our senior years. With an emphasis on aging in place with in-home care, Happy to 102 unlocks the secrets to longevity and inspires us to live happier, healthier lives at any age

Review: This is an unique book, in that it spells EXACT things that will help change your future, and that of your parents! There are SO many aspects of the book that you can start changing NOW that can make such a difference down the road for you AND for your parents:

Example- 7 super foods that prolong your life:
1.Salmon and other COLD water fatty fish, such as Tuna
2. Walnuts, almonds and other nuts-heart healthy Omega 3 fats
3. Carrots-Vitamin A
4. Eggs, yolk included- protein
5. Flax Seeds- lignin and Omega 3 fatty acids
6. Blueberries- antioxidants
7. Dark Chocolate/Cocoa-flavinoids AND antioxidents

There are some really great chapters in this book (the one about taking AWAY the keys is one that should be read YEARS before by child and parent, so all are aware of the signs of WHEN to take the keys away (ie way before they become a statistic!).I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone with aging parents especially! You can purchase it on Amazon and get more info on the Home Care Assistance program on their website
