Welcome to getting older...............

We got a new medical plan at work this month (yippee skippee, the old one was only 3 months old, so long everything already put toward deductible, SIGH), and while it is equivalent in most regards, it's worse in some, BUT it also includes a every other year eye exam, which the old one didn't! Well, that's welcome as I have eyeglasses for reading, but I've been having eye spasms, probably due to too much computer work (hello, blogging anyone, HA HA) and I know I PROBABLY need new eyeglasses!

So I went ahead and made the appointment, DREADING having to get new prescription glasses because I KNOW due to my age (let's just stick with over 40 shall we??), and the eye spasms, it may be time for the dreaded bifocals. EEEKKKKKKKKKK  I'm too young! Ok, vanity thing over (maybe), I just remember how hard it was when my Mom first got them and I just didn't want to go there yet, ya know?

I have to say my new optometrist was very nice and VERY understanding! I'm sure he gets alot of the 'oh no, not me yet' when it comes to bifocals! I knew due to having a lazy eye that my good eye had been getting overstressed and I knew I'd get a lecture about not wearing my current glasses when working all the time!
I was surprised to find that my good eye had gotten better and lazy eye stayed the same, which was why the glasses caused the headaches I'd get when wearing them! AND even better, I was borderline, so I could put off the need for bifocals til my next visit! YEAH!!!!!!!!  Did you know that your eyes don't really get worse -the muscle holding them gets stretched over time and the stress from trying to keep taut is what causes the squinting? Sorta makes you feel better, huh?

eyeglassesI didn't see any frames at the Optometrist's office that I liked! Luckily I had been contacted by GlassesUSA about doing a review for them, so the timing was super to peruse their selection of prescription eyeglasses and see if I could find frames I liked! I really wanted to try something new and different! Not that I didn't like my current frames, they were just over 4 years old and I wanted a change! Luckily I found the PERFECT frames at GlassesUSA. I love their COOL BLUE color! So I went ahead and faxed over my prescription! And now I'm anxiously awaiting my glasses to come in! I can't wait to show you when they come in!  So remember, seeing the optometrist may not be as bad as you think it will be!
