Ok, we all know that when you run a blog you need a time out period every know and then or you get burn out, but I think God decided mine was NOW, not later and pulled the plug cause I wouldn't....gee, all knowingly and all has it's privledges I guess huh?
First of all though=thank you VERY much for all the kind thoughts, prayers and comments while I was sick! I promise I read them all, just didn't have time to reply back to them all!
Anyhoo, basically I had pulled my back and was out thanks to a lovely prescription pain pill when I awoke Friday night to ' The TERROR", aka the worst stomach virus I have ever had! It pretty much wiped out Saturday and Sunday in total for me. Thanks due to the 'viral cleansing' and the wonderful Tylenol 3's that the nice er doctor felt I needed due to all the intestional gymnastics! All I knew was the path from bedroom to bathroom and back. Monday and Tuesday were not much better.
Wednesday and Thursday I finally starting feeling human again and I finally felt well enough to start blogging again. You know it's pretty bad when you have ZERO concentration factor and have ZERO want to get on a computer! But you know me, it never REALLY goes 100% dormant....
So between the ER visit over the weekend and the subsequent doctor's visit, I learned a few things that I thought might be super to pass on to all of you! As both doctor's are warning that this lovely TERROR is going around and comes on with no warning!
Shout outs to my family- hubby and my parents- they took wonderful care of me and darling daughter. Mom and Dad you went above and beyond and I know you're very happy to see me back up on my feet!
Daughter earned her nursemaid badge by bringing Mommy a blanket and a stuffed penguin (don't ask) when I finally made it to the sofa. Course she lost her nursemaid badge temporarily from jumping up on the sofa with me and deciding that the other end was a slide. She then brought me her stuffed puppy and traded it out the stuffed penguin, in an attempt to gain back her badge (it being her favorite toy at the moment!)...she did.
And finally, one big PFFFFF to Yahoo. I had over 1370 emails (yes you heard that right), I deleted without viewing and got the number down to about 710. I'm going thru them (sorry ya'll, unless your giveaway just was WOW,I'm skipping this week! I promise I scanned the non-giveaway posts for the blogs I subscribe too, but quick read was best you're gonna get, no comments made!) and I'm down to just over 200 when it happens. Error 999. Yahoo shuts me down (for 2-24 HOURS) because I was 'doing' too much......now they KNOW I had 1300 unread emails and they think I want to read them all over DAYS????????? THIS is why people switched to Gmail you dolts at Yahoo!........this is an account I've had for over 10 years, only reason I haven't switched it sooner, but SOON, very soon I am gonna start switching everything over to a Gmail account .....arrrgghhhh........

- when you are severely dehydrated you should ONLY drink a tablespoon to half a shot glass of water every 15-20 minutes. Any more and it will come back upon you and will NOT be absorbed. The goal is to help your stomach absorb the water. Not having a shotglass handy, a nyquil cup can serve in it's place
- it's gonna sound yucky, but Pedialite is a parents friend too. DITCH the gatorade, it will only KEEP you running to the bathroom. Trust me, have the Pedialite freezer pops in the freezer at all times, they taste MUCH better and help soothe a sore esophagus!
- do NOT have ANY dairy until you are totally recovered. We've all heard this but did anyone ever ask why? I did- when your system is 'viral cleansing', the first thing it strips from your colon is the enzymes at the top of the colon that break down lactose in dairy products. Without the enzymes, EVERYONE is lactose intolerant, and you will be back in the bathroom in a flash!
- if no one in your family or friends has the bug and you go to the doctor the best thing is to have them test to make sure it is NOT food poisoning. Not much difference, but at least you know you aren't contagious then! Oh and food poisoning usually takes SIX hours to hit from when you ate the bad stuff.
- if they prescribe you pain meds for the intestional gymnastics- take them! They will ALSO help with the caffeine withdrawl. OOPS, forgot about that didn't ya? If you're only taking in water and Pedialite, you're missing you're coffee/coke! Yup, no meds is gonna mean one pretty bad headache/migraine!
- Yes Virgina, you CAN loose 10 pounds in 3 days via the Viral Cleanse method. HOWEVER, I really, really, really, really, really do NOT recommend it!
- and NO, the BLAND diet they want you on when you start to recover is not fun or yummy-a McDonald's Happy Meal will seem like dinner at the Ritz when you try your first one! And Coffee? Forget about it for about 6 days-it just will NOT taste right!
