Zing Zam Zoom- some after thoughts!

Yup, it's another circus post! LOL

I wanted to share so many of the 286 pictures that I took (no that was NOT a typo)- I probably deleted about 25 more that were just too out of focus to save, and I STILL enjoyed the circus and was NOT glued to the camera! There was just SO much to see, which was why ya'll got TWO posts already ! This post is just comments, rather than pix!

swag 1swag 2First off- Ashley at Deveney Communications REALLY hooked us up with a souvenir package of Plush elephant, program, rubber elephant (aka mini-Asia), rubber clown noses and a video of the show! The video has great behind the scenes footage and is great to relive the show with friends and family! Daughter hasn't let the plush elephant (aka Asia) out of her sight yet! Ashley she said "I LOVE YOU" !

Now onto the other stuff:

A couple of things I wanted to share about the show in case any of you are thinking of seeing it in another city along the tour:

  • this is a SPECTACULAR. We were awed by the crew that moved everything around the rings in between the acts. Dressed all in black they moved like SUCH a well oiled machine it was eerie! But in a good way. Obviously they all enjoyed their jobs and working with each other, as without a good camaraderie they could NOT do what they do so quickly! Being so close, we got to really watch what they did. Kudos to the behind the scenes crew-ya'll rock!

  • speaking of behind the scenes- we did not go to see the animals before as we had to pick up tickets and weren't sure if that was inside or not and it wasn't til afterward that we saw the miniscule sign that pointed into the parking lot BEHIND the arena for the animal open house. In retrospect, I wish we had done that first, then gone inside. By the time we came out daughter was just TOO exhausted and we all wanted to go home. Just make sure you are out of the car an hour before show so you can experience the animals AND the pre-show floor show.
  •  like Disney, you're gonna spend some moola on the goods! At least they had $9 lemonade in really nice TALL take home tumblers! They will be perfect for outside by the pool, so they were a good investment. Souvenirs run high- $23 for a t-shirt, $20 for light globes, $14 for rubber elephant, $12 for Program (more than well worth the money for the background info), $12 for cotton candy with the wizard hat. Snowballs were also available for $15 in collectible containers, but not really worth it. They take credit cards, so you're 'safe'-LOL

circus souvenirs

  • the arena snack bars WERE open (yeah) but quickly ran OUT of water and bottled juices. THEN they ran out of sodas...the food prices were as expected, but at least they had a kids snack pack of hot dog, popcorn and small soda for $7. But without drink, not such a buy! I think they were just overwhelmed with the post- lunch time/pre-dinner crowds! AND they took debit cards, so you didn't have to use cash. Check with your local venue to see IF yours will be open!
  • check your parking cost beforehand. The Superdome parking had a show special for $10, but it was cash ONLY!
  • the circus is LOUD! People had young infants there and you could tell they were very uncomfortable. Leave them with a babysitter-let your younger kids ENJOY the show and quality time with YOU, without you having to deal with an upset baby! Also good luck dealing with a stroller- most arenas just don't have the room under the seats!

All in all we had a superb time, these are just FYIs for ya- we really can't recommend this show enough. THIS is the show to take your kids to and one they will remember best (trust me- I remember my first circus VERY well!)
