Remember I told you we were going to have a CSN Stores Giveaway?
It's HERE!!! Only 2 of you ventured a guess of what I was going to review, out of CSN's 200 stores, to win the extra 10 entries! BUMMER- but Melissa technically was halfway right, so I'm going to go ahead and award her the extra points!

I selected the Curious Chef 5-Piece Pizza Kit! I've been looking for a safe knife for my daughter to use, as she wants to help 'chop' when we prep food to cook. I've looked at Curious Chef before, but wasn't sure she was ready for their knives! Lately she has been on a pizza kick, so I thought ok, we'll try this kit and see how it goes!
The kit came arrived in less than a week (love CSN's great shipping times!)! It contains the nylon plastic cutting knife and pizza cutter(both safe for little fingers, but will cut thru most foods!), a nylon plastic pizza (pie type) server, a rubber and plastic spatula (for making sauce and dough!) and a cute apple shaped cutting board (non-stick edges, so it won;t slide!0. Bonus items were a mini shopping list pad (to list everything you need to make your pizza!) and Curious Chef/ Pizza stickers (perfect for scrapbook pages to remember the day!). So while the items are kitchen tools, they are also educational to help children learn while cooking!
Obviously you have to taste test the pepperoni BEFORE you out it all in the oven, right???

We decided to use the kit and make pizza on Friday night!
Our ingredients for cheesy pepperoni and cheesy pepperoni deluxe were:
First was rolling out the dough, unfortunately the set does not come with a rolling pin, but she used two that are just about as old as I am, and they did the trick!
Note the knees to the table approach in rolling out dough :)
Daughter eagerly took to chopping out her veggies using her new Curious Chef knife:
Please note proper finger placement on food :) The knife cut with ease once she got the hang of it and the chopping board cleaned up VERY easily!
And then it was time to assemble the pizza:

The pizza was pretty good, we all agreed, even 3 yr old, that we would have pizza night more often and make our own! The Curious Chef pizza cutter worked really well, except that I forgot to put some cornmeal down on the pan, so the edges stuck. The pizza server also worked really well, AND because it is so BIG, it will be perfect for cakes as well! This set would be perfect with a basket of food stuffs or a kids apron/potholder set for birthdays or Christmas presents! My daughter was SO enamored of it she wanted to chop ALL the veggies in the fridge! She was pretty proud she could "chop like a big girl that she is now" and we're happy to see her love cooking! I will definitely be getting her the rest of her baking essentials and the smaller knife from the Curious Chef kids line! Check them out today and instill a love for cooking in your child!
