Giveaway: TNT Rizzoli & Isles version of The Apprentice by Tess Gerristen

Today is Rizzoli and Isles Day!!!

This new police show airs Mondays at 10:00 PM on TNT . It is based on the books by mystery writer Tess Gerristen and features Angie Harmon (from Law and Order) as main character, police detectve, Jane Rizzoli
and Sasha Alexander (from NCIS) as main character, medical examiner, Dr. Maura Isles.

Both are complete opposites, but good friends, who solve crimes and bust some of Boston’s most notorious criminals. Growing up at opposite ends of the economic spectrum, the two remain strikingly different from one another in many ways. Jane, the only female detective in Boston’s homicide division, is a tough and gutsy cop who doesn’t let her guard down (except with Maura), dodges her overprotective mother (Lorraine Bracco, Sopranos, is a hoot as her mom!) and is better at basketball than her brother.

Maura, meanwhile, is usually more comfortable among the dead than the living. She is always impeccably dressed in designer duds with a steady, sometimes icy temperament. And she is working on curbing her tendency to diagnose the people she meets – including her first dates. I love the addition of Donnie Wahlberg as a potential love interest for Rizzoli- he and Harmon have great chemistry together. And isn't it great to see that somebody from one of the boy groups (New Kids on the Block) has some good acting chops???

With my work schedule, I've only been able to catch a couple of episodes when they aired-thank heaven for Tivo! So I've caught up when I can. I love the show! It's great to see 2 female leads, usually in cop-land shows there's a male and female, they never let you have 2 females for more than 1 or 2 story arcs! The ongoing backstory of the leads childhood brings a fullness to the shows. if you haven't watched any of the shows, check out the full episodes at the fan page!
