Grandparents Day is coming up this weekend and my mind wandered the other night and I started thinking about the differences between when she raised me and as I'm raising my daughter today.
Why do us modern moms always feel like we're so far behind? Like not everything is getting done? Our Moms led the cultural revolution and got out of the house and got careers, but yet still maintained the house like they had before. What was the magic formula? was it because she had me at such a younger age (22 yrs difference!) and had more energy period? I mean look at this list-

THANKS MOM!!!!!!! And thanks for being such a great Grandmother to kiddo and showing her the things you taught me! Seeing the thread from our ancestors to kiddo is priceless- there are no words to describe that feeling!

Things by mom did for me
- class mother
- attended all school functions
- made speciality cupcakes/cookies for different holidays for the class
- attended field trips
- acted as a Brownie leader
- worked full time
- sewed my clothes (seriously, I didn't have store bought clothing til about 3rd grade!)
- crafted items for the home- you name it, she could do it!
- sold Home Interiors (very successfully) on the side
- acted as Military Ombsbudsman
- took care of the numerous pets
- cooked homemade meals and lunches, and afternoon snacks
- changed the furniture around and everything on the walls TWICE a year (then she started on the bedrooms!)
- kept a practically sterilized clean house
- played both parents, as Dad was out to sea alot (thanks to the US Navy)
- helped with homework
- taught me manners
- taught me how to read BEFORE I started school
- drove me all over for band recitals/practices, art and tennis lessons
- instuted 'game night' before it was popular
- taught me everything above and how to do it all
- loved me unconditionally and stood by me on my decisions
BUT there was no:
- cell phones
- computers
