If you remember from last year (was kiddo really that small???), Halloween is a pretty big event for our household. I think I love it almost as much as Christmas! Luckily my daughter has picked up on this feeling ans is more than happy to dress up and run around collecting candy and playing games at various Halloween events! (yes, it is SO rough on her, LOL)
Unfortunately for me, kiddo has had a good growth spurt, and none of her costumes from last year are going to fit, or be long enough. Naturally! Every Mom knows exactly what I mean by that! So I knew we were gonna have to costume shop this year, and I like to do so early, so I can make sure she has everything she needs for her costume (seriously, try getting Halloween accessories from some of the 'kids' clothing companies by September 30th- good luck!). I know we'll have events the weekend before Halloween, then the Audubon Boo at the Zoo the following weekend, not to mention Halloween itself! WHEW.
So when Wholesale Costumes offered me a chance to pick out a costume and review it, I was overjoyed and set kiddo to online perusal of their VAST collections for kids!
It took us almost as long to pick out a costume as it took for it to arrive! Wholesale Costumes has OVER 1000 costumes for girls alone! AND they have over 10,000 (yes, I said 10,000!) costumes on their site!
I love that their prices are SUPER low! For example the Elite Storybook Witch above, comes with EVERYTHING you see, including the tights for only $49, a savings of $40 from traditional costume suppliers, AND if you join Wholesale Costumers for only $5 a year, you can save even more on the costume (if you order 2 costumes in one year, you've made your $5 back!).
Two you say? Well, think Christmas pageants! Wholesale Costumes has great prices on angels, Mary, shepherds, the wise men and Joseph! You can order them all and save lots of $$$.
We decided on the Orange Butterfly Costume for kiddo as she is still in love with the butterflies she raised and set free. The kit contains the costume, with tutu bottom and feather cuffs and neckline, wings, feather feelers, feather fluffers for your feet, AND the butterfly wand. I don't know about you, but I've had to buy wings by themselves before, and they generally cost almost as much as the costume they are going with!So this is a SUPER deal!
All we need to add if black tights and shoes. Both of which, we already have. YEAH!We ordered the costume and it arrived a mere 9 days later! That's with regular postal mail! WOW! As you can see it is exactly as shown and described!
Unfortunately, the sizing is off (because it is a tight fit in the chest, a 2-4 was too tight, we needed a 4-6, so keep that in mind if you are ordering a similar type costume), and we needed a bigger size. NO PROBLEM. back it went, and the next size came within 7 DAYS. WHOO HOO!
The new costume was exactly right! All she needs is a black t-shirt or cami underneath (the back is open from neckline to waist, due to it not being snug like the smaller size), and I need to iron the butterfly on the wand with some spray starch to make it stay upright better, but that is the design/weight of the butterfly, not really a fault, and we're ready to go!! The wings are wonderful with glitter to make them extra shining as all little girls require and the tutu once it is fluffed out is perfect!
As you can see- it's perfectly fine for dancing among your 'garden' that you made before school started (and are not allowing anyone to remove from the coffee table...).
I am VERY pleased with the quality and cost of the costume, and will definitely look at getting all our costumes from Wholesome Costumes in the future!!
