Coffee- More than JUST Caffeine!
It's Fall and we ALL know what that means- more hot tea and hot coffee!

"
- Deodorize your freezer/refrigerator/drain: Place coffee grounds in the back of your freezer or frig to eliminate odors. Pour them down your drain (followed by boiling hot water) to step smells lingering there too. (if you've EVER had a long time power outage, you probably already know about this one!)
- Fertilize your indoor and outdoor plants: Coffee grounds are a natural fertilizer that you can mix right into soil or dilute with water. Your flowers and vegetables will thank you! Caffeine is also a natural way to kill slugs, so sprinkle some grounds in your garden. (when we were getting ready to sell our house, I did this religiously on the flower beds out front and all the relators complemented us on them, as they were nice and lush!)
- Keep ants away: Ants hate coffee; use the grounds to repel them. Cats will also keep their distance from the odor of coffee. (so true, I brew coffee upstairs and it's like they vanish. Which of course is GOOD when I'm sewing! HA HA)
- Revitalize your furniture: Wet coffee grounds (applied with a cotton swab) can tone down furniture scratches.(this is a new one to me, I've used coffee to dye fabric, but never thought about furniture!)
- Toss your kitchen cleanser: Coffee grounds are a chemical-free way to clean your pots and pans. (Hmmm, have to try this one!)
- Cut down on the dust: Coffee grounds do a nice job minimizing fireplace dust – just sprinkle them on the ashes before you start gathering them. " (have tried this before and it really works!)
