About the Author: Los Angeles-based illustrator Patrick Hruby grew up in a log cabin within an Idaho forest. As a young boy he dreamt of running away to join the circus and become a trapeze artist. Eventually, however, he grew up to study math and physics before attending the renowned Art Center College of Design and pursuing a career as an illustrator. His interest in the geometry of nature is central to his work. Influenced by artists and designers such as Charley Harper, Paul Rand, and Mary Blair, Hruby has gone on to develop his own stunning and modern aesthetic
Review: This is a super little book, great for the kid who loves the circus, or as a baby shower present for someone decorating their nursery in circus themes!
Kiddo LOVED going through this book and learning new words, and reinforcing memories from her latest circus adventure. The colors are very bright and attention grabbing, and the chunky style is perfect for little hands to hold!
If you want something other than the run of the mill ABC book, this is THE book to buy for your family and friends!
AND Hruby will have a Garden counting book, coloring book AND large floor Castle puzzle coming out in 2011- so you can enchant your child some more in the spring and summer with his excellent drawings!
