This may seem like an odd pick for the History Corner section, but there is alot of history based lessons in the series and book, so we thought it appropriate!

Now as I'm not into comics like this and hubby is, I asked him he wanted to review the comic book when it was offered and the resounding YES was enough to say ok (men are really just little boys with large toys, right? LOL). So here's his review!

Review: Falling Skies comic book is by Dark Horse, which is a company I'm familiar with because I used to love the Aliens and Predator issues, they used to do! So I was excited to be able to review the comic book!

The book begins in Post alien invasion Boston as a group of survivors of the invasion are searching for food to take back to a secret field hospital but in town while scavenging they see some odd sites. After they get back to camp some Militia members try to recruit Mr. Mason to join them but Mason just wants himself and his sons to survive and declines. (You know this BAD, right???)

Later the Militia members take pot shots at some alien ships and all heck breaks out. One of Mason's sons is captured by the aliens, and Mason is filled with a resolve to go get him back, and is given a AK-47 by a militia member (which is odd it is available considering Massachusetts gun laws -LOL, hubby had to get one in there!). The battle ensues to get his son back and his defining quote is "I'm a soldier, now".

After reading the comic I'm going to go online and research more about the series, and online comics, and keep reading! I will definitely be watching the series as when it comes on- if you like comics, you'll like this series!

Disclosure / Disclaimer:  We received this comic book from YouCast PR, for review purposes. No other compensation, monetary or in kind, has been received or implied for this post. Nor was I told how to post about it either.

  3. @Liza767

    Liz,

person has gotten everybody's emails apparently- I've gotten her email on 4 different emails that are not linked-they are apparently trolling the net for emails!

If you dont know a sender on an email, best practice is you should ALWAYS send email to spam folder and dont open it!

there is no way for me to block someone who is reading and trolling unfortunately.
