Kids Book Review: You Are a Gift to The World /The World is a Gift to You by Laura Duksta, illustrated by Dona Turner

This is an interesting book, in that it is 2 books in one! The book is read in one direction to the middle, then turned over and read back to the middle- both sections end on the same middle page, delivering the same powerful message. It will be released in April!

Review: Aimed at ages 4-8, You Are a Gift to the World has a wonderful message for children and adults about caring about our world and how special everyone is! When Kiddo (we're back to that, she doesn't like the nickname Joy..SIGH) and I read the book, she was quick to stop me on every page and point out examples before I could! Talk about a teaching book! I love that the book made her think and be creative. It was amazing to mee that when we finished the book she looked at me and said "God loves everyone just like the book says, we're all special! " From the mouthes of babes, right?


This is a great little book- kiddo loved the flip concept and that both stories ended up in the middle with a picture of the world. It is an unique book and one that would be wonderful for preschool and elementary classes, especially Sunday school classes! Be sure to pick up a copy for your family when it comes out!




About the Author: Laura Duksta believes that when people know they are loved, anything is possible. Laura lost all of her hair to Alopecia Areata at the age of 11. It took her many years to love herself and to allow others to love her. Laura knew from a young age that she was meant to travel the world, meet her brothers and sisters and spread the message of love.
