CD Review and Giveaway: Hullabaloo at the Zoo cd

We recently won a copy of the kids Hullabaloo at the Zoo cd from NOLA Baby Magazine.

Like normal, I burned a copy to keep in the car- I find especially for kids cds, it helps as they get used SO many times. Plus, if anything ever happens to your car, you still have the original cd! After a conversation with Kiddo in the car the other day, I decided to burn us another copy, and offer my dear readers the cd we won!

Kiddo ADORES this cd- she says "Mama, it makes me feel happy!". What you want to hear from a 4 year old!

The cd features a really great mix of different musical styles-  R and B,Ragtime, Dixieland Jazz, Mambo and even Boogie Woogie! How many times have your kids/grandkids listen to those music genres? Exactly! That's what is SO great about this cd! It is real music that both parents and children will love and can sing along to!

Hullabaloo at the Zoo was created in New Orleans, by Steve Spitz and features many of the cities finest musicians. It all started with Teresa Miller, who wanted some great upbeat music for when she would make daily three-hour car drives to take her daughter Andrea, then age 4, to undergo radiation therapy. She contacted her friend Steve, a New Orleans-based musician playing pedal steel with Gal Holiday and the Honky-Tonk Review, and thus "Hullabaloo at the Zoo," was born.

The ten tunes have lyrics about subjects such as animals taking over the zoo, fried chicken, rainy days, and Humpty Dumpty. Miller said. "Our goal was to produce something that parents can enjoy together with their kids." Spitz said, "Good music - fun music - should bring out the kid in you. It was refreshing to do a project in the studio where the only criteria was to have fun."
