Nutella has been a favorite of Europeans for decades (it started in Italy, by the same company that makes Ferrerro Chocolates (those gold, silver and brown packets of blisss at the holidays especially!), and when used in moderation with complementary foods, Nutella
is a quick and easy tool to encourage kids to eat whole grains, such as
whole wheat toast, English muffins, toaster waffles and bagels.
I was recently picked to be one of the Moms Meet Bloggers to host a Nutella Breakfast Bar for my friends and family, to introduce them to Nutella, which has been a favorite of mine for EoNS!
Nutella
hazelnut spread is a terrific option for individuals with peanut
allergies. The spread does not contain peanuts or peanut ingredients,
nor does the product come in contact with peanuts during manufacturing.
Nutella is comparable to other
popular breakfast spreads and is the perfect alternative for all those
finicky eaters in your household.
I was sent some super items to share with my group, to help introduce them to Nutella: gift bags with recipe cards, a Nutella spreader knife, Nutella samples, Nutella coupons AND Nutella Coffee Tumblers! Woo HOO!
Don't those bad look SOOOOO inviting???
Ours was supposed to be a breakfast get together, but due to schedules, it was more of a 'whatever time you can make it' get together! Most of the guests had NOT tried Nutella, or not had it since they were kids, and no longer thought of it as a nourishing treat for themselves!
We started off talking about the great things about Nutella and then got into the important stuff: trying it!
A great way to treat yourself with the daily breakfast on the go, is with Nutella on toast. You would be surprised how it fills the chocolate cravings AND fills you up, and gives you a great burst of energy for the entire morning! The general consensus: hmmm, maybe it's not just for kids! Doesn't it just look BETTER than toast with butter?
Nutella is also great on waffles, pancakes, English muffins, really any bread you can have for breakfast! Feeling a little French? What about some Pains au Chocolat Nutella?
( This is the SIMPLEST recipe ever, and very reminiscent of the traditional French after school snack!)
Ingredients:
Jar of Nutella
Can of Crescent Rolls or the Crescent Sheet
(yes, that's it!-
Directions:
1.Preheat over according to crescent can directions. Open can onto cookie sheet.
2. if using rolls, separate into the 8 triangles, if using the sheet, you can cut to you preferred square size (smaller is better).
3. Spread a small amount (1-2 tbsp) of Nutella on roll. Roll up and tuck under ends, to properly encase all the Nutella (no leakage wanted here!), and place seams side down on cookie sheet. Finish all rolls.
4. Cook according to package instructions.
5. Serve after a very brief cool (you want them still warm if possible). Hear lots of moans of love for bread and chocolate, aka little pockets of heaven!
Now Nutella isn't just a spread by itself, it can be a cooking ingredient as well! For instance, you can take your regular brownie mix, cook according to directions. Then take a can of chocolate frosting and add Nutella to it (to your taste preference). Top the brownies with the blended frosting and your 'run of the mill' brownies are now sublime!
(sorry about the pix- I forgot to take a pix before the plate got attacked eaten!)
Feeling Hungry Yet? I bet! Want to win a CASE of Nutella? You can swing over to the Nutella website and enter to win one! We all did! AND you can get a $1.00 coupon from Nutella as well !
We had a lot of fun and definitely went away FULL! Coffee and Nutella make for a perfect starter for your day. Try some and you'll see too!

I will have to try the Nutella and cresent rolls. Nutella is my daughters favorite. She asked for a Nutella Pie for her birthday dinner.
