Giveaway: The Everyday Advocate: Standing Up For Your Autistic Child

** this giveaway is closed **

April is National Autism Awareness month!
So we'll be having some book reviews and giveaways this month in honor of that!

First up this month, is nationally recognized autism advocacy expert Areva Martin, Esq. who shares her hard-won knowledge as a parent of an autistic child, and an individual rights attorney, in THE EVERYDAY ADVOCATE: Standing Up For Your Autistic Child, which comes out in paperback TODAY, April 5.

Synopsis: In a sea of impractical advice, quirky theories, and all-around unhelpful tips, Areva Martin is a rational, down-to-earth guide. THE EVERYDAY ADVOCATE is filled with practical, real-world actions that work, lists helpful websites and organizations, and gives parents and caregivers the emotional support they need as they face the challenge of successfully standing up for children with special needs.

• Getting a diagnosis (often the hardest first step)
• The principles of advocacy
• Balancing a career and a child with autism
• Navigating the therapy maze (which seems to change daily)
• Networking with other families affected by autism
• And much more

About the Author: Areva Martin, Esq. has appeared on Dr. PhilGood Morning America, and FOX News, and has counseled hundreds of parents of autistic children. A graduate of University of Chicago and Harvard Law School, she is the founding and managing partner of Martin & Martin, LLP. Additionally, Martin is the president and co-founder of Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN), a non-profit launched specifically to support families with special needs children.

This is a practical guide and one that every parent whose child is diagnosed, or whom they think has Autism, should read. It offers a road map of what to do, and what NEEDS to be done to assist their child, to the utmost. And I am thrilled to be able to offer not 1, but TWO copies for giveaway today!
