This may not seem like a Mother's Day book, but it is a very heartfelt true story and I really thought one of you would like it!

And Extra Love is definitely a theme of the book!

SynopsisAdventure seeker, 29-year-old Conor Grennan, took off on a  year-long dream trip around the globe, and ended up staying three months at the Little Princes Children’s Home, an orphanage in war-torn Nepal.A reluctant volunteer, in the middle of a country torn by civil war, he quickly became enamored of the resilient children of the orphanage, who brought new meaning to his life on a daily basis.

Then he learned the hard truth of the orphanage- the children were not orphans at all! They were taken by child traffickers, who had promised remote village families they could protect their children from the civil war, for a huge fee of course, by taking them to safety. Then they would abandon the children far from home, in the chaos of Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu. The orphanage found them and gave them a place to stay.

Conor found a new commitment to reunite the children with their families. He would risk his life facing the dangers of the civil war and a very serious injury. Waiting for Conor back in Kathmandu, was the woman who would eventually become his wife and share his life’s work.

About the Author: Conor Grennan spent eight years at the EastWest Institute (EWI), both in Prague, and the EU Office in Brussels, where he served as Deputy Director for the Security and Governance Program. Conor left EWI in 2004 to travel the world and volunteer in Nepal. He would eventually return to Nepal and found Next Generation Nepal, an organization dedicated to reconnecting trafficked children with their families and combating the root causes of child trafficking in rural villages in Nepal. Conor now serves on the Board of Next Generation Nepal, together with his wife, Liz. He is a 2010 graduate of the NYU Stern School of Business. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and son, Finn,
and a soon-to-be baby girl.

Review
Little Princes is a riveting memoir and factual story of country that few of us have been to, much less understand. Conor's book is amazing in how he brings the culture, fears, and realities of war torn country to life for his readers. It takes a very special person to reach out and see a huge need and act upon it. Conor's decision to stay and help the boys find homes was sincere and awe inspiring. His tale is very appropriate after Easter, as we all feel renewed and wish to help others. His example is one we should all aspire to!

Reading this book you will be so inspired by Conor and the children, and what the human spirit can endure. The book is powerful, funny, and ultimately joyful and a wonderful read!
