A few weeks ago we had a "Girls Day Out" and Kiddo and I went with my BF to the New Orleans Dragon Boat Races in Madisonville (I know, I know, SLOW in getting these pix out!).
The second annual race was as much fun as last year's event! They didn't have the art walk this year, so no art lessons for Kiddo this year!
But we took our picnic blanket and set up by the shore and had a lot of fun.
Kiddo decided she didn't really like Dippin Dots. She's a creamy ice cream girl and
these were NOT to her liking!
The boats are amazing when you look at the details!
And then there's the oarsmen and oarswomen. It really is an equal opportunity sport- no matter your age or gender, you CAN be good and have FUN. What we found was more companies sponsoring employee made up teams, with families congregating to cheer on their boats, making it really more of a huge family fun day!
Madisonville is a small family town, so with the locals there as well,
it was a VERY friendly and happy event!
AND the races were pretty great too- many of the teams were equally matched on talent!
And of course spending time with your BF and child is always the best day possible anyways! I LOVE these pix of both of them- so natural (yeah BF can be a model, it's rough being her friend..NOT- she's the best! ).
And of course I think Kiddo is always gorgeous! I love this pix because I think this is what she will look like when she's an adult!
We had a great time as the day was absolutely GORGEOUS-
a little windy- but that kept it cool, so nobody minded!
Though it did make it hard for Kiddo to blow the bubbles we'd brought with us!
And no, this is NOT her Vanna pose- she was telling us how cool the trophy was and could we "buy" one to take home? LOL....not quite sweetie!
Congrats to the East Bank Team Extreme team, who won Division A!
And to Team Sodexo, who won Division B!
So how about next year we see YOU at the races too? !!
