Guest Post: Quick Easy Meal For 'On The Go' Families

turkey wraps
I don’t know about you but my family is always running from one event to the next! Don’t get me wrong, I would not have it any other way! It is important for the kids to be active and I love to watch my kids in their activities!

One of the biggest problems we experience is eating healthy on days that we are on the go between activities. Our family gets so tired of eating at fast food restaurants and don’t have time for a nutritious home cooked meal many days.

A quick, easy, yet filling meal that my family loves is turkey wraps (we love these in our house- Kiddo preferred tortillas over bread until recently-and they're better for her!).

Turkey Wraps:
  • Whole wheat tortillas
  • Deli turkey slices
  • Chives and onion cream cheese spread (store brand tastes as good as name brand)
  • Shredded lettuce (optional)
The turkey wraps can be made several hours before you actually need them.

Simple Directions:
  1. Spread the chives and onion on the tortilla.
  2. Add 2 or 3 pieces of turkey and lettuce (the turkey depends on the size of your tortilla).
  3. Wrap the tortilla up burrito style folding in the bottom.
  4. Add sides like grapes and baked potato chips.

If you have a little more time, you can chop the turkey, mix it with the chives and onion cream cheese, spread the mixture on the tortilla and add lettuce. You can cut the tortilla into spirals and serve. We also like to add alfalfa spouts and/or avocado!

I hope your family enjoys this turkey wrap as much as my family. It definitely beats another greasy hamburger and it a great on the go meal! AND they're perfect for a light weekend lunch too!
