Have you been having fun with your kids this Summer?
We sure are, and one of the highlights has been BOOKS! Lots and lots of books! Given the choice of getting a toy or a book, Kiddo goes for the book 80% of the time! Yes, a mother's dream come true! And reading and learning new words is important to keeping your child on a learning curve over the Summer, getting them ready to go back to school in the Fall (can I get a 'is it here YET? from the Moms and Dads? LOL)!
So we've been reading ALL Summer long! Another related activity- Book signing with the author of a favorite book! Kiddo is absolutely entranced when she gets to meet the minds who wrote her lovely books! At 4, writing a book is totally amazing to her! For her it's like a field trip!
While loving that my Kiddo has a book obsession, finding new books to read (as Kiddo gets BORED with them after the 15th reading-LOL), can be strenuous. Our local library doesn't have a great selection, and during Summer the librarian's picks are gone as soon as they're put out! Trips to the bookstore can be fun, but you can get overwhelmed with the choices!
So a pretty great choice is the Children's Book-of-the-Month club! Every month they tell you about some wonderful kids' books, that you and your kids can check out/buy!
