If I thought some of the books this past couple of weeks were quick reads, I was stunned to realize I had read this book in less than 3 hours!
Synopsis: Tucker is a laid-back Southerner and divorced dad, whose days of excitement seem to be mostly behind him until he is assigned to cover the story of a child's skeleton discovered buried in the sand. As Tucker attempts to follow the twisting trails of evidence to discover the murder, he finds himself confronting his own past, discovering truths about his own lineage and the upper crust of his coastal community that make certain parties uncomfortable.
Tucker will need to keep his wits about him as he draws nearer to a surprising conclusion.
"I enjoy writing stories that will engage the readers mind and bring pleasure to them," says Ramsay. "This book, my first novel, offers a unique look at the possibilities that can link the past to the present." After years of teaching others to read and write as a high school language arts teacher, Ramsay was inspired to do a bit of writing himself and produced this novel. Intended to engage and enterta the book was written for fans of light murder mysteries.
About the Author: Walter Ramsay holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in education. He has worked as a high school language arts teacher and athletic coach for more than 25 years and enjoys working and learning with young people. Ramsay currently resides in Ocean County, N.J.and spends his free time at his house in Brevard County, Fla. Married with four children and two grandchildren, he enjoys the outdoors, following sports and learning about history.
Review: I loved this book and it's quirky back and forth to Florida's past. It is a mystery, ghost story, post-divorce drama, history lesson and political tale, all rolled up into one. Oh and that's the first 2 chapters. LOL. I thought it was fitting to have the review and giveaway today, as the history of old Florida may surprise readers of this book- we tend to not think of it as a frontier, like the plains, but at one time it was, and men made their fortunes by whatever means necessary.
Fast forward to modern times and some things haven't changed. Ramsay does a great job of keeping the reader hooked and the pace of the books speeds along and suddenly the story take a surprise twist at the end, making you go 'HUH!', and tying everything up in a nice tight web! Great for poolside,or just to read at night while on vacation, you'll be happy you picked this one up!
