Book Review: Mickey Mouse, the Treasure Hunt by Personally Yours Books

One of Kiddo's favorite books is one that we had personalized for her when she was an infant, while playing 'tourist in your hometown', one weekend in New Orleans. Oddly, we had not bought her another. So I was quite happy when Personally Yours Books contacted me about doing a book review of one of their personalized books!


Personally Yours Books has personalized books, dvds, cds and EVEN wall art for kids! Their book choices are pretty good- ranging from holidays, to characters, to events, to ones for babies, to even potty training (boy could we have used THAT one!). I love that they even have Scooby Do and Marvel Comics- so great for older kids!

The process is really easy- you supply your child's name and hometown, relatives and friends names, and Personally Yours Books does the rest!

I selected Mickey Mouse, the Treasure Hunt, as it involved three of Kiddo's favorite things- treasure hunt, Mickey and Pals, and a surprise party at the end (shhhh don't tell the kids!). (Sorry for the phone pix- was in a hurry).

Kiddo fell in love with the book from the opening page, with it's title and dedication! She saw her name first and was quick to tell me her name was on the page, then when I read it all, she was awed! As we continued reading the story she was thrilled that "she" was an active character in the story. She was turning the pages to find her name again, before I could even finish the one we were on! Upon finishing the book, she had to read it again, but this time read it to me! It was great to see her pointing out her name and starting to point out the characters' names. YEAH a early reading skill! WOO HOO!

I would highly recommend these books for birthdays, Christmas and special occasions!

And don't forget their other choices too!

You can  preview your child's name being sung while searching through the different music cds that Personally Yours Books offers! this is really great for kids to hear and most would love to help pick out one for themselves! They even have TWELVE religious cds, including Sing Along with Veggie Tales! I am thinking about getting Kiddo that one, and the Party Time with theWiggles for Christmas- I think she will adore either one!

Their Christmas DVD with Santa would be a great advent present and would really bring home the 'Santa is watching you' concept! I know you could find a character dvd to meet any child's taste from their selection!
