Today we have a superb little mystery that introduced me to a new female lead character-Izzy McNeil. Now I need to go back and read the 3 previous Izzy books!
Synopsis: It was a crime of passion—or so the police say. Valerie Solara has been charged with poisoning her best friend. The prosecution claims she’s always been secretly attracted to Amanda’s husband…and with Amanda gone, she planned to make her move.
Attorney Izzy McNeil left the legal world a year ago, but a friend’s request pulls her into the murder trial. Izzy knows how passion can turn your life upside down. She thought she had it once with her ex-fiancĂ©, Sam. Now she wonders if that’s all she has in common with her criminally gorgeous younger boyfriend, Theo.
It’s Izzy’s job to present the facts that will exonerate her client—whether or not she’s innocent. But when she suspects Valerie is hiding something, she begins investigating—and uncovers a web of secret passions and dark motives, where seemingly innocent relationships can prove poisonous….

Review: This book will have you hooked from the first chapter! I read it in 2 sittings, it is SO fast paced! The subplots are given equal time with the main plot and creative a very pleasing web of mystery. Everything has a domino effect and is linked! I liked how Izzy is confused and how her personal life overlaps into the case. She may be flawed, but she is a lead character you can relate to (and her mother will have all Southern girls grinning and nodding their heads!). By the time you finish the book, you want to go back and read the previous triology of books! it is not necessary to read this book, but you will definitely be hooked! This is a great book to read on a lazy afternoon!

One of my hints is switch to cloth unpaper towels instead of using paper towels. That is my goal for this year!

This is a thrilling story. I like thrill and its perfect choice for me. The summary of this story is interesting, and now I can’t wait. I will be purchasing it before the weekend.
ReplyDeletePeople are purchasing the Box of rags at the store while throwing their stained/wornout/outgrown clothes in the trash. And get real - there are a lot of people 'donating' clothes that seriously need to be downgraded to rags. And others are donating unworn shirts that they swear they recognize coming out of the box of rags they purchased. Well - the frugal thing is to make your own box of rags and take the time to research where you donate wearable clothing
ReplyDeleteFrugal hint: Make several meals out of a baked chicken. Bake and serve your chicken, using modest better-for-you size portions. Retain 1/2 chicken breast and use that mixed with a starch like rice or macaroni and cheese for another night's entree. Save little bits of meat and boil them with the chicken carcass and rice or noodles to make a meal-worth soup for a third meal. I know how far a chicken will stretch depends on the size and ages of your family. If you're frugal, I think many families can stretch a chicken into 3 meals or more.

Don't use as much laundry detergent as called for and use cold water. Your clothes still come out clean!
ReplyDeleteMake your own window cleaner that works better than any store bought product.
ReplyDeleteMix together:
2 cups water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 tsp liquid detergent
I se coupons and make a weeks worth of meals ahead of time so I don't have to go to the store all the time. Really saves on those impulse buys.
