About Ginny: Born and raised in Jackson, Miss., Owens was discovering melodies on the piano almost before she could complete a sentence. The Song is a gorgeous acoustic piece that will have you in awe of Ginny's voice! Before You Fly talks about Jackson's recovery from Katrina and will make anyone affected by the Hurricane a little misty eyed! Rain is about breaking up and every listener will be able to relate and sing along! Better Off is a total jazz song that will have you humming and singins along as well! Daughter of Destiny will appeal to the younger listeners with it's r&b/hip hop feel!
Joined At The Heart is a powerful ballad about adoption that will have most moms tearing up, it's that powerful! But the prime jewel is Higher Ground. Yes, the same song recorded by Stevie Wnder and later the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and one of my all-time favorite songs! Ginny gives it a whole new spin by slowing it down and breathing new life into it as a song about being redeemed and going to Heaven (Ginny wrote alot of the songs while her mother was battling cancer, so there is a underlying focus on most of them).
If you are looking for a cd that you can put in and listen to 'adult' music while ferrying the kids to and from school and practices, but it will have the kids humming and singing along as well! And one lucky BTHM reader will get to win their own copy!
