As you know Propeller PR has sent us some great dvds recently and they sent us a great one for Kiddo to review this week!

Just released today, Theo Presents is centered around the adventures and teachings of the main character, Theo, a student of Godʼs Word. Theo lives in a cozy corner of a quaint English village, in the heart of the Cotswolds, and entertains many guests, including two mice, Belfry and Luther. He also sings praise songs while dusting and wandering his house, something which Kiddo found quite amusing, as well as repeating "I know that song! We sing it at church!" every time he was singing!
This animation series guides children, and adults, through a careful study of systematic theology. Theo discusses doctrines about sin, Godʼs character, the Bible, salvation and godly living with easy-to-understand illustrations that make children want to learn more about the Christian faith. Meanwhile the two mice act out a scenario involving the show's theme.
Theo was created to reach kids of all ages, as it is well known that kids and adults love cartoons! The lessons and teachings of Theo can be used for Sunday school lessons, Christian school curriculum, missions, evangelism and homeschooling. The multi-media sets include a DVD series, curriculum, books and audio CD series. Each of these facets are designed to work with one another or individually. Plus there are bonus guides and coloring pages on the Lifeway website (where you can also purchase the series).
The individual DVDs each contain 4 Theo episodes and 4 printable teaching plans, worksheets, and parent pages, for further discussion. Each volume will also include the bonus “Good News” episode and teaching plan on the gospel. They can be purchased via Amazon.

We were sent a sample DVD with 2 of the mini episodes on it. It also included a tea bag for mom! Yeah! A cup of tea while Kiddo learned about God and the bible- works for me!

Kiddo was instantly entranced with the episode, besides finding the mice and Theo all amusing, she was intent on the lesson being taught, and was quite happy to advise me 'that they talked about that' in school about every other sentence! Ah the benefits of having her at a Christian school, that focuses on bible teachings! The scenarios by the mice were very easy for her to grasp and discuss afterwards.

I was very impressed with the animation- it looked like something that would have come from Disney or Pixar! And one can't argue with the topics being taught about! Kiddo and I highly recommend this new series for kids and their parents, or for your Sunday School classes! AND they even have and ipad and iphone app too (via itunes)!

  1. We are so excited to see that there is finally a product dedicated to Choo Choo Soul. My daughter has loved the tidbits on TV for months. This is a great package because it includes the CD and the DVD. My daughter enjoys both. She dances and jumps along. Glad to see that the DVD and CD have the important songs, including "ABC Gospel" and "Jump Jump" and I never knew my daughter enjoyed "Bullet Train". Buy it, you're going to need it everyday!
