Product Review: Empire Car Cover

Sometimes when you have a blog, emails come to you about reviewing items JUST when you need said item-either a new need, or a previous items that has been destroyed.

Today's AUTO review fits that definition!

We had a bad storm come through and destroy the cover we had on hubby's corvette (or cahr-vette as Kiddo likes to call it with full on SOUTHERN accent!) literally a couple of days before I was forwarded an email about reviewing a car cover from Empirecovers.com

Empirecovers not only has car covers, they have covers for boats, jet skis, all types of bikes (motorized or not), campers and rvs! PLUS they have accessories like tonneau covers, floor mats, pet travel items and spare tire covers! Yup, they can be your one stop shop! Their covers are for items stored both inside AND outside, as well.

We chose the Titan 4L Car Cover, out of all the Corvette Covers, made for our corvette'e model year (which means it covers EVERYTHING it should!), and most importantly, with a LIFETIME warranty!

It is an indoor/outdoor cover that gives you 100% waterproof protection, with 4 layers of protection. 3 outer layers are made of BREATHABLE Polypropylene and an inner layer of Fleece, to protect the paint on your car! Why breathable you ask?

Because that way moisture can be evaporated and keep mildew and/or from forming on/in your car. With us, we don't drive the corvette daily, so this is an important feature, as we have so much humidity and rain! And while we have the car under a tented carport styled cover, it is great to know that this cover is UV Treated, so in case we take it with us on a trip (in it's handy dandy stage bag!), we know we can cover the car, and protect the paint and interior, while sitting in a hotel lot!

The cover has a full elastic hem, which helps it to STAY in place on the car and not pull up on one end (like the one I had on my Eclipse years ago used to do continually-nothing is MORE aggravating than spending the time to cover you car and then come back out and find it partially uncovered!).  Plus it has straps ad buckles to keep it secure and not easily removed. Hubby was able to take the cable and lock kit from the destroyed kit and use it on this cover, with the attached grommets, with no problem, giving an extra layer of security, mainly for when it's not at home, or for when it's really windy!

Besides the bag, the cover also comes with an antenna Patch (to accommodate a non-retractable antenna), which we don't have, but we can use for any hole that comes up! Yippee!

The lifetime warranty REALLY sold us- we've been through 3 covers already and that's an average of a new one needed every 2 years, so at an average of $120 a cover, this will be a HUGE savings to us!

Empire's prices are VERY reasonable- the covers start under $50 and go up, depending on the amount of protection. PLUS, they have a 30 day return policy, in case you don't like to cover and want to upgrade! AND they have FREE shipping on orders over $100 (and shipping is SUPER quick for you last minute shoppers)! And right now they are having a Fall sale- just use code SPT10 and save 10%! And if you sign up for their newsletter, they have even MORE discounts! WOO HOO!

Christmas is coming and a really good car cover can be a GREAT Christmas present for the car/bike/jet ski lover in your family! So check out Empirecovers.com , and you will find something to fit YOUR needs too!
