YiShaun Yang came up with the idea of AdoraPet, because she wanted to create something that brought children joy and nurtured their curiosity and imagination, while nourishing happy minds and developing new ways for kids to see and safely experience the world. The idea of using puppies came to her while filming a documentary! As a result, Pima Puppy and Pico Puppy became the characters for the series, and the embodiment of children's natural curiosity, imagination, and sense of adventure. The series is aimed at kids between the ages of 2 and 6. There are currently 8 books in the series!

Pima and Pico are a little girl puppy and boy puppy who love going on adventures and sharing them with your child through their themed books and dress-up toy outfits. Throughout the AdoraPet series, Pima Puppy and Pico Puppy have many different experiences that range from the imaginative, like the Mermaid Adventure, to the intrepid, like the Astronaut Adventure, to the practical, like Visiting The Dentist, learning valuable lessons along the way about friendship, helping others, and being true to their own uniqueness.

We were sent 2 books to review-

Pima Puppy Ballerina cover
Pima Puppy BallerinaBallerina Pima Puppy is getting ready for a ballet performance, complete with tutu, leotard and butterfly wings for her dance. the story goes behind the scenes and shows getting ready, performing and after the performance. The goal is to teach kids about anxiety and how to deal with it before a performance.

What Kiddo really loved was the addition of the 5 basic ballet positions being illustrated. She did them for days after the first reading (yes, I know it's Ballet class time!), as part of HER butterfly dance! There was also additional steps, which she recognized from her ballet dvds. This was her overwhelming favorite of the 2 books!

adorapet chefs coverPima Puppy and Pico Puppy Chefs- Chefs Pima Puppy and Pico Puppy are cooking dinner! Their menu includes salad, pasta and chicken stew. All that's missing is dessert, which your little chef can help them make, with the included recipe!

Kiddo liked the recipe- it was one we had made before, and she's a whiz and helping in the kitchen already, so there was alot of 'I know how to do that", during the dessert part of the book!

This is an adorable series, and there is sure to be a book, or two, or three, that your child would love to read! The books are very simple in their text, so they are also perfect for early readers to read by themselves! They are small, and fit easily into a go bag (or stocking), and are perfect for small hands to hold! The illustrations are sweet and clear for kids to associate with!

At under $6 they are a great price, and can be purchased on the AdoraPet webite (Paypal enabled!), plus some retail stores in NYC. AND they will have stuffed Pica and Pimo toys soon! They also have Kindle editions available on Amazon too, to download to your kids iPad! I highly recommend them all!

While I don't have a giveaway for you today, Adorapet is giving away one book per day, for the rest of the year, to celebrate the release of the series!
