We've been having some issues with our mail(like I'm getting mail for people in other TOWNS on the other side of the county), and I did NOT get this review cd until this past week! BAHHHHH. During the first week of October, it was available for ONLY $5 at Christian Stores across the country. It may still be available- ask your local store!
Abingdon Press, Baker Publishing Group, EMI CMG Distribution, Provident Distribution, Thomas Nelson Publishers, Tyndale House Publishers, Word Distribution and Zondervan partnered with World Vision (of whom I told you about last year, and will have more on later today), to create an enhanced CD compilation to heighten awareness and educate consumers about the effects of hunger and how each person can make a difference.
The CD also features enhanced material that includes portions of the a video and participants’ guide from “Stuck” by Jennie Allen and 4 books by Randy Frazee, Kyle Idleman, Mark Mittelberg and Mike Slaughter. This exclusive Feed the Flock Enhanced CD is dedicated to World Vision’s efforts in feeding hungry children globally and in the United States, and all have participated pro-bono in order that a one-time donation earmarked for World Vision food aid programs may be made on behalf of the Christian retail community.
World Vision is a Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization working in nearly 100 countries and dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
This cd is excellent on it's own, but it would be super for a youth group for music to study by, or to use as a learning guide. The books are excellent and the video is short, but can produce a lot of discussion! The music part of the cd is also great to listen to in the car with the kids, knowing it is pg rated, but sure to illicit some great topics for discussion!
With the exemption of Amy grant, I had not heard any of the artists on the music part of the cd, before. I really liked them all, and I know you will too, so I've included links to their websites, so you can check out their music!
Songs included are:

Songs included are:
1. Good to Know- Francesca Battistelli- Sorta a Taylor Swift sounding song
2 Forgiven- Sanctus Real- a little like Bruno Mars combined with Matchbox 20
3 My Cry- Holly Starr Combine Adele and Sara Evans, and you've got it
4 Listen to My Heart- Brandon Bee Definitely a 3 Doors Down feel
5 Stranger in This Land- Robert Pierre-Breaking from the previous songs- a Akon/Usher flavor
6 The One- Dara Maclean - hard to say on Dara- sorta like Selena Gomez combined with Taylor Swift
7 Beautiful- Group 1 Crew - more R&B /Beyonce flavor
8 I'm With You (from the Story)-Michelle Nordeman and Amy Grant-country song combined with a classic Sarah McLachlan flavor
9 Taken by Love- Kutless A little like it could be Cold Play Top 40! My fav on the cd!
Books: The Reason Why by Mark Mittelberg, Not a Fan by Kyle Doleman, The Heart of the Story- Randy Frazee, and Christmas is not Your Birthday by Mike Slaughter. I have only gotten through the Slaughter book, so far, but in scanning the rest, all of them would make great adult bible study books!
Video: Stuck, Episode 1 (and viewer's guide)- about how God wants us to be good and how we have a hard time doing so, like small children, thought we want to.
All in all, again an excellent cd- check with you local stores and friends, and see if you can get a hold of a copy- you'll be glad you did!
