Product Review and Giveaway: Maty's All Natural Vapor Rub

We've shared some great products from Maty's this week and today we have the last product we reviewed, AND a giveaway! Perfect for cold and flu season!

If you are over age 30, you probably grew up with another brand of Vapor Rub smoothered all over your chest when you were sick by grandma. It was the cure all for a couple generations. And yes, the smell of eucalyptus worked and you were able to breathe!

The Maty's All Natural Vapor Rub blend is petroleum and menthol free! Why is that important? Petroleum jelly is only as good as its refining process. Byproducts produced from refining are PAHs, or polycyclic-aromatic-hydrocarbons, and 1,4 dioxane. These impurities are known carcinogens (cancer-causing agents), which have been studied around the world for work related exposures. In fact, a friend's great aunt died of lung cancer, yet never smoked in her life. BUT she was a firm believer n slathering her chest in vapor rub everyday for over 60 years. Bingo- cause found!

As to menthol- a recent study conducted on the effects of menthol, found that it increased mucous formation in the air passages. Infant nasal passages may be too small to handle this increased mucous production and therefore pose a health risk to the infant. Maty's vapor rub is menthol free, and can safely be used on anyone 2 years and older.

Maty's proprietary blend of essential oils (including Eucalyptus, Wintergreen and Peppermint) boosts the immune function, while the vapors open and clear the nasal passages. They help to decongest and expel the mucus. It works JUST as well as the old vapor rub you knew as a kid, but it smells a whole lot better! Kiddo really preferred it and it seemed to really help her sleep better!

For infants, Maty's is till there for you with their Maty's Baby Chest Rub! The proprietary blend of essential oils (including Eucalyptus, Lavender & Chamomile) boosts immune function while it calms, and soothes your baby. The all natural blend is petroleum and menthol free and can be used on babies three months and older. We used lavender and chamomile products on Kiddo up until about age 3, and she really seemed to sleep SO much better with them. In fact, we still have lavender spray for her sheets, and when we use it, she seems to sleep sounder.

So I am happy to be able to offer a box of the All Natural Baby Chest rub for giveaway to one BTHM reader! I wish we had had these products when Kiddo was an infant!
