We're all looking for ways to help the environment, and reuse items, to keep them from going to landfills before they need to be.
So I was thrilled to come across a new website that offers great items that are environmentally responsible and great to use, reuseit.com -reusables for every part of your life! Plus it has great lessons on how to reuse items, myths and facts about recycling, and info about different environmentally responsible fabrics! They also have a section about how YOU can make a difference, and actions you, and your family can take!
Their shopping area is great, and perfect if you are looking for responsible Christmas gifts, that keep on giving, by being reusable on a daily basis by the recipient!
They have lunch items, bags and totes, bottles, laundry and office items, gift wrap, kitchen items and even t-shirts! I had a hard time selecting and item to review from the site, as they have SO many great items! But after lugging a couple of bags up and down stairs at the house, I knew what items would be great to review: a basket that was large enough to take stuff back and forth easily. When you have 20+ stairs, a basket is pretty needed! So I went back to the reuseit site and checked out their baskets, and found the perfect choice: the Reisenthel Market Basket, Black/White Floral .
The Reisenthel brand is known for quality European styled bags, tots and baskets. Slightly bigger than store carry baskets, the Resienthel has a tough tear-proof polyester fabric cover over a lightweight aluminum frame that has a soft-rubber grip handle. This is the big difference- you can carry this basket around for hours and it won't hurt your hand! It also has a zippered pocket on the inside for putting keys or your wallet while shopping, so you don't have to carry a purse and the basket!
The best thing? It collapses down for easy storage in it's zippered plastic carrying case. All you do is remove the plastic side supports from their pockets and it will flatten! Easy! Plus it has velcro tabs all the way around, so you can remove the cover and spot clean it,when it gets dirty!
After setting up the basket, I found constant ways to use it! While making and baking for 2 days, I found that it was a great storage basket for my supplies overnight!
As you can see, plenty of room still left! It has been the perfect size for taking small amounts of laundry, books and other mail, and even sewing projects back and forth between upstairs and downstairs. I'm probably going to put one in each of our cars, so we always have one available! It is SO much more comfortable to use while shopping the hobby and discount stores, when you don't need alot of items! They have over 300 types of
