The Christmas carol, Silent Night, is one of Kiddo's favorite songs (in fact we sung it acapella while decorating the Christmas tree this year), so I was very interested to see what her reaction to this book would be!

LISTEN TO THE SILENT NIGHT coverSynopsis:  It was not such a silent night when Baby Jesus was born. From the baa, baa, baa of sheep to the flut-flut-flutter of angel wings, it was actually quite noisy! Here, from CBA bestseller Dandi Daley Mackall, is the story of the first Christmas, using the sounds of that miraculous night to really bring the story to life. With rich, gorgeous paintings by Steve Johnson and Lou Fancher, this reverent retelling of the nativity is sure to become an essential part of every Christmas collection.

Review: This is an adorable book, about all the noises and sounds that actually occurred the night Jesus was born- from the animals, shepherds, shoes to even angels' wings. Kiddo was very entranced with the gorgeous painting illustrations and was quite ready to help with sound effects! She looked through it 3 times after we read it the first time, and then advised me that we should save it for Christmas Eve reading! Which in kid speak means it's a special book and should be read with The Night Before Christmas, as part of her Christmas traditions. I was surprised and pleased at the same time. Course she did allow that we can read it at church before then!

This is a wonderful book for gift giving, and one that is appropriate for Sunday School classes as well!
