The Little Rose inspires children to embrace who they are despite their current environments. Themes include: Overcoming Bullying, Self-Esteem, Tolerance, Embracing and Accepting Yourself, Authenticity
Review: Tolerance and difference are two topics that we talk a lot about with Kiddo, so I knew she would be able to understand the themes behind the story. As she loves to pick up weeds and bring us their 'flowers', I was interested to see how she would see them after reading this story. Sometimes preschoolers can really surprise you! Not only did she understand the themes of the story, she was able to relate them to kids in her school, and situations she has been in ! WOW. But the book was a great way for us to talk about them, and what is right and wrong. Course, she also wanted to search all the weeds in our yard, for true flowers, so we could rescue them!
This is an adorable book, and the illustrations are sweet, and we recommend it for all classrooms and kids!
